My Story: From Combat Medic Training to Kitchen Alchemist
I'm Isaac, founder of Natural Artform. Originally from the wind swept plains of Wyoming, I've found myself living in the rainforest on the east coast of Australia.
I started Natural Artform when I re-injured my left rotator cuff for the 2nd, 3rd, who knows how many times. In my previous career as a US Army Medic trained in the elite halls of the US Army Special Forces in Ft. Bragg, NC, I would have just popped a few large ibuprofen and carried on. But I learned through the years that this actually SLOWS your body's ability to heal itself by shrinking the blood vessels around nerves.
It was time I went a different way. I was introduced to wild harvested medicinal herbs when I went through the military's intense survival school. I relied on pine trees, wild rose hips, acorns and wild persimmons to stay alive, healthy, and energized while living in make-shift shelters, shivering with my fellow soldiers around a tiny campfire in the rain.
Heal Thyself
Fast forward to the summer of 2022 after I had left the military and started a handyman company in a small town in Wyoming. My shoulder hurt so bad I could barely hold a putty knife above my head. Being a solo-entrepreneur at the time, I couldn't afford to take the necessary time off to rest.
While working I was an avid alternative health podcast listener, and I heard about 2 things that really struck me like a lightning bolt to the gut. Magnesium, and DMSO (or dimethyl sulfoxide). Magnesium for releasing stiff muscles and joints, and the DMSO I had heard was a natural sulfur compound from the good ol pine tree from my survival medicine days. It is extremely powerful at reducing pain and inflammation, but it also has the incredible ability to help your body absorb anything that you combine with it.
