Ready For Anything 2.0
Beyond Basic First Aid

A 5-hour combat-medic-inspired, hands-on workshop for people who want to live more independently, and be ready when it counts.

With Isaac, Natural ArtForm  |  myselfreliance.com.au

1

Most first aid training stops exactly where you need it most.

Standard first aid courses teach you to call 000 and wait. But what happens when the ambulance is 90 minutes away? Or the roads are cut in a flood? Or it's overnight, you're off-grid, and nobody's coming until morning?

"When help is delayed… will you know what to do?"
🚑

Rural NSW ambulance wait

Can exceed 45 to 90 minutes in regional areas. Some properties: hours.

🌊

Flood, fire, storm isolation

Help can be 24 to 72 hours away. Simple unmanaged injuries become life-threatening.

💪

What changes everything

One person who knows what to do in the first 30 to 60 minutes saves lives. This workshop makes you that person.

2

Everything included in your 5-hour workshop

🩸

Haemorrhage Control

Tourniquet application, wound packing with gauze, tourniquet conversion to compression dressing because help might not arrive for hours.

🫁

Tactile Vital Signs

Read blood pressure by touch (radial ≥ 80, brachial ≥ 70, carotid ≥ 60), assess pulse quality, breath rate, pupils, cap refill, and skin signs with no equipment needed.

😮‍💨

Airway & Breathing

Head-tilt chin-lift, jaw thrust, recovery position, and how to read breathing rates. What 10, 20, and 30 breaths per minute actually mean for your patient.

Shock Recognition & Management

4 stages of haemorrhagic shock, field management without IV fluids, warmth protocol, positioning, and vitals monitoring schedules.

🦴

Fracture Stabilisation

SAM splint technique, improvised splinting from found materials, CSM checks, and open fracture management.

🩹

Prolonged Care: 24 to 72 Hours

What people say before they sign up

❓ "I already have basic first aid training. Why do I need this?"
Basic first aid ends where this begins. St John teaches you to call 000 and apply pressure until paramedics arrive, typically within 8 minutes in a city. This workshop teaches you what to do when paramedics are 2 hours away, the road is cut, or it's overnight and nobody can reach you. These are completely different skill sets.
❓ "I'm not medical. This will go over my head."
Everything is designed for people with zero clinical background. No anatomy degrees, no memorisation, no jargon. You'll leave knowing exactly what to do, in what order, using plain language. The workshop is built around doing, not lecturing.
❓ "I live close enough to a hospital. I probably won't need this."
"Close enough" changes fast: a flood, a fire, a multi-car crash that closes the highway. Anyone who has had to wait 30+ minutes for an ambulance in a real emergency understands this instantly. One workshop, one set of skills: that's your insurance for life.
❓ "Is $147 really worth it for a workshop?"
A standard Remote First Aid certificate course runs $180 to $350 and teaches you far less about prolonged care. You're getting 5 hands-on hours, directly applicable skills, reference materials, and community access, for less than a restaurant dinner for two. The one time you use it, it will be worth every cent.
❓ "What if I freeze in an emergency and forget everything?"
That's exactly why this workshop is hands-on, not lecture-based. Muscle memory and practised decision-making under stress beat memorised bullet points every time. You'll also leave with a laminated MARCH card in your kit: a physical prompt for the moments your brain goes blank.
❓ "I don't want to hurt someone by doing the wrong thing."
The alternative, doing nothing, is far more dangerous. Uncontrolled arterial bleeding kills in 3 to 5 minutes. A person who applies a tourniquet, even imperfectly, saves a life. This workshop gives you the confidence and framework to act decisively and correctly.
❓ "Can I bring my partner / family member?"
Absolutely. This is best done together. One person who panics and one person who knows the MARCH framework makes a good team. Couples and families who train together respond better under real stress. Individual tickets, bring them along.
❓ "Is this just theory, or will I actually practise?"
Minimum 60% of the workshop is hands-on. You will apply a tourniquet, practise compression dressings, find your own pulse points, put someone in the recovery position, and work through real scenarios with a group. You leave having done it, not just heard about it.
❓ "I'm not into the prepper thing. Is this still for me?"
Yes. This isn't about fear, bunkers, or doomsday prep. It's about confidence. The same skills that help you at a rural property accident also help at a car crash on the highway or a chainsaw incident on your neighbour's property. Calm, capable people: that's the only label here.
❓ "Who is teaching this? Is this actually credible?"
Isaac is a trained Special Operations Combat Medic with real-world experience applying these exact techniques under pressure. This isn't a theoretical course: it's adapted from protocols that save lives in the most austere, delayed-care environments on earth, simplified and made practical for everyday Australians.

Is this workshop right for you?

✓ This is perfect for you if…

🏡 You live or spend time on a rural or regional property
🌲 You hunt, farm, homestead, or work outdoors
🏕️ You're interested in off-grid, tiny home, or independent living
👨‍👩‍👧 You have a family and want to be the capable person in a crisis
🚗 You drive long distances on remote roads
🧰 You have a first aid kit but aren't confident using it
💪 You want practical skills, not just certificates

✗ This isn't for you if…

🏥 You're looking for advanced clinical or surgical training
📜 You need a certified first aid certificate for work compliance
🧑‍⚕️ You are already a trained paramedic or nurse
📚 You want a purely theoretical / classroom course

Note: This workshop complements, but does not replace, formal first aid certification. We recommend pairing it with a registered Remote First Aid course (St John, Wilderness Medical, etc.) for the most complete skillset.
